HV30 with RNG35V3 & Flip Hack

Here are some snaps of my RNG35 & Canon HV30 after I performed the much talked about flip hack. (Flip hacking is where you open up your camcorder and rewire the display to a switch that flips & mirrors the image to enable you to shoot without looking like you've just had a dozen tequila shots.)

Here it is close up (I wish I had a switch with a much less protruding toggle - I'll probably grind it down when I next get the chance to).

If you want to try this yourself just pop over to the HV20/30 Forum and you'll see what others have done to their cameras.

Flip hacking can be done to any camera, however the complexity does vary somewhat. The only camera I own that did not need the image to be flip hacked was my JVC ProHD 200U which already has a flip & mirror function in it's menu. With everyone trying to emulate film bokeh these days, camera manufacturers need to put this function in the menus of their new cameras - it certainly makes for a lot less work re-orientating the image in post!
