Smoke Machine?

Postby TeeSav on Sun Nov 02, 2008 3:39 am

This question may not be asked very frequently but I didn't know where else to put it.
2 days ago I bought a very good smoke machine and I will be purchasing a Hazer later on. The Problem with Smoke Machines and Hazers are that they leave a layer of grime around wherever the smoke has been. I was just wondering if this would cause any problems with the RNG35?

My experience with smoke machines is that because they use an oil based fluid to create the smoke you will eventually get a light film of on everything in the vicinity.

I remember one time I was shooting a bridal dance and had a spare battery in the corner of the dance floor about 3 metres away from a small smoke machine. Once the bridal waltz was over the battery had a slippery film on it. Only the area around the smoke machine seemed to affected so I don't think you really have anything to worry about unless you are in the direct path of where the smoke machine is projecting from.

Thanks Harry,
I wont be getting too close to the smoke machine its mainly to add the illusion of depth and make my footage more visually appealing.\
